When you are a 9-year-old kid, you likely feel that the entire world revolves around you. I think that all of us have felt that way when we were that young and most of us outgrow it when we get older (but not all of us). Then again, there are times when we hear of someone who is 9 and they don’t have a selfish bone in their body. That is the case with Jesse, who spends his summers mowing lawns. He doesn’t do it for money, he cares for disabled individuals, the elderly, and veterans in his community.
The community in Warner Robins, Georgia is thankful that Jesse Ward is the kindhearted person he is. He was following in the footsteps of a young man in Alabama who established the 50-yard challenge. After establishing Raising Men Lawn Care Service, Smith is helping other kids to step up to the plate and do the right thing. The challenge is simple, you would mow 50 lawns in the community and Jesse was all too happy to follow his lead. According to 11Alive, he is doing this as a free service and continued into October of last year.
The organization got Jesse started with some PPE and a community of over 700 others who have taken the challenge as well. The best part is that he loves the work he is going and he does a good job of it.
Jesse is doing more than mowing lawns for those that need a helping hand, he is inspiring others to do the same. Take a look at the following video that shows even more details of what this young lad is doing:
