When we are parents, we want to do everything within our power to ensure that our children are well cared for. Sometimes, this means making decisions for them and at other times, it means allowing them to make decisions for themselves.
Of course, there are going to be situations that we find it to be more important for us to call the shots. If you happen to be set in your ways when it comes to eating, then that is one of the areas that is going to get the most attention.
That fact was clearly seen in the case of a mother who was vegan and she made the conscious decision to raise her eight-year-old daughter as a vegan. The problem is, the mother is now facing quite a dilemma because her little girl started eating meat.
That wasn’t enough on its own to truly upset her, it was the fact that her ex-husband was secretly feeding her meat and never discussed it with the mother. She only found out because the daughter had a fit after not being able to get chicken nuggets on her way home.
In order to express her irritation, the mother went on Reddit to talk about how her daughter was now crying and screaming for chicken nuggets in the car. The mother decided that a vegan option will be offered, but the little girl wanted meat.
Whenever the little girl finally calmed down, she asked her mother if she would hate her if she wasn’t a vegan. The mother said that she would not, but yet she was still angry with her ex-husband for doing what he did.
As you can imagine, there were plenty of comments on Reddit. Some people were saying that she was in the right and others were saying that she was in the wrong. There were also plenty of people who talked about the need to allow children some latitude and, of course, there were plenty of people both standing up for and speaking out against a vegan lifestyle.
