It’s hard to believe that Christmas is almost here. 2020 has been difficult, to say the least, and most people are looking forward to saying goodbye to the old year and welcoming 2021. There are also many things about this year that have been negative, and our thoughts probably go directly to the pandemic. We’ve also had a lot of civil unrest and natural disasters, among other things. On top of it all, however, we have the celebration that people around the world take part in as the year draws to the close. Christmas may not be the same this year as it has been in years past, but many are looking forward to it.
What is it that defines Christmas for you and your family? There may be many things that we look forward to as the day gets closer, but Christmas music is often something that is foremost on our minds. Perhaps it is because it is the music that is playing everywhere we go from the time Thanksgiving takes place until the end of the year. There are also plenty of old favorites that we can appreciate, including the one in the song below. Although there are Christmas songs that make you want to get up and dance and others that make you miss those you aren’t with, ‘O Holy Night’ is one that has the entire holiday wrapped up inside of it.
Over the years, O Holy Night has been sung by countless people. Some of them are worth listening to over and over again and others may be good the first time, but we tend to turn our attention elsewhere. When you hear this amazing rendition of O Holy Night by Susan Boyle, it will be one you want to tuck aside and pull out every year.
This video is from a number of years ago when Susan Boyle was introduced by Larry King. It wasn’t a newsworthy event, so to speak, but hearing her perform the song is something that is sure to give you goosebumps like nothing else. Listen to it for yourself below:
