If I were to ask you to name your favorite actor, you probably have someone you could name without hesitation. The reason why we like their acting may also come to mind. Some actor play their part in romance movies in a way we might like and others might do great stunts or perhaps may even do great fight scenes. There are also times when they may play a role and they become so iconic in it, they may not be able to play in any other role. That is how many people feel about Sir Patrick Stewart.
When you think of that actor, what is the first thing that comes to your mind? If you are like most people, you would first think about Star Trek and his role as Captain Picard. He did do that role justice but he isn’t only an actor that can play in a science fiction role, he is a talented actor that can play many parts. This includes his ability to be involved with classic acting, such as Shakespeare. He is showing that skill to the world recently by reading Shakespeare Sonnets and once he got his start, he just kept it going.
It all started with Sir Patrick Stewart reading Sonnet 116 to those that followed him on Instagram. He got such great feedback that he decided to take things further and read one every day.
The reason why he decided to read those sonnets to his fans is rather interesting. He said that his mother was fond of saying that an ‘apple a day keeps the doctor away’. It seems that he feels the same way about a sonnet a day. Enjoy some of them for yourelf.
