How far are you willing to go to be the parent that your child needs? This is a question that many of us ask ourselves and if we are a single parent, we might ask ourselves this question frequently.
Being a single parent is nothing new and there are many people who raise children successfully without the benefit of having another partner in their life. That doesn’t mean that it isn’t difficult and at times, we may need to make decisions that are difficult as well.
In the end, we want to provide all the love and care that our children need and we will sometimes step out of our comfort zone to do so. That is what one signal mom, Whitney Kittrell discovered and she stepped outside in a big way.
As a mother in St. Cloud Utah, she didn’t want her children to miss out on anything. That included her son, who sometimes really needed a father to be in the picture.
One day, her son came home from school with a flyer and showed it to his mother. It was about an event called “Dad’s and Doughnuts” and suddenly, she realized that it was a father-son event that was taking place at school.
The little boy was afraid that he wouldn’t be able to take part in this special event but the mother had something up her sleeve. When the event came around, she was ready in an awesome way.
Not only did Whitney dress up like a dad in a T-shirt and track pants, she even wore a goatee that had been drawn on her face. At first, she was concerned about what her son would think but he was absolutely thrilled to have her there with him.
She talked about it in a Facebook post, saying that she was embarrassed but she couldn’t help but smile when being introduced to the other children by her son. The little boy would let them know that this was his mother but she was also his father so she was there with him.
