Growing up, like most little girls, I loved my Barbie dolls. They were the “ideal beauty” and that ideal wasn’t such a healthy thing. The fact is, achieving a Barbie doll’s proportions is unrealistic, but many young women in the modern era have tried to get the Barbie look with cosmetic surgery. One particular young woman who has gone to great lengths to be what she believes to be perfect is Andrea Ivanova, a 22-year-old from Bulgaria. She has had all sorts of cosmetic surgery, but for some reason, has become fixated on achieving full lips. And I’m talking about grotesquely, comically full lips that defy reality. They look like obscene balloons.
In an era when women are embracing body positivity, Andrea is committed to living in a false reality. She’s still unhappy with how she looks and while it’s OK to get cosmetic surgery if it’s something you want to do for yourself, there are lengths that you can go to where it becomes unhealthy. Andrea has wanted such full lips that she has subjected herself to 20 rounds of lip filler injection. Here’s the kicker: she has no plans on stopping these injections any time soon. According to The Sun, Andrea’s injections cost about $166.66 and Andrea has splurged this much money on all of her hyaluronic acid injections since 2018.

She’s not just doing it for attention. In some warped mentality, Andrea loves how her lips look. She says that while some doctors think she’s done the injections enough, she wants to have even more, and wants her lips to be even bigger. Her doctor is even willing to do more injections for her but insists that she wait at least two months. Andrea added that yes, there were some difficulties for her to perform certain tasks. Eating, for example. She told the Daily Mail that it’s hard to eat after the injections, especially after two or three days. But Andrea has no regrets.

She thinks her lips are “lovely,” and hopes they’re some of the largest in the world.

Andrea insists that her new lips are “more fashionable.” Even worse, her 38,000 Instagram followers seem to support her, saying that “bigger is better.” However, Andrea admits that she receives both positive and negative comments. Nonetheless, she remains unfazed by the haters because her lips are just how she likes them and other people’s opinion is “irrelevant.” She adds that for her there are “no boundaries.” Indeed.
