As parents, we want to do everything we possibly can to keep our children safe. This would include making sure they were well cared for when we weren’t there by their side.
Perhaps that is one of the reasons why one mother is so furious at what happened when she went to pick up her daughter from the daycare center. The Florida mom knew that she was running late but after arriving a few minutes after the daycare closed, she had a hard time imagining that she would find her child locked up inside all along.
That’s right, Stephanie Martinez found her two-year-old daughter locked up all alone inside of the daycare center. The little girl, Anastasia was locked up in there accidentally after the mother was late arriving. The little girl was standing on a chair and crying while looking out the window.
The crazy thing was, she was only two minutes late and had to call 911 to get her daughter out of the daycare. She said: “She is inside the daycare. She just came up to the door.”
The dispatcher asked for confirmation and the mother said that the little girl was crying and she was inside by herself.
It wasn’t long before the plantation fire services showed up and were able to open the door so that the little girl could go free. It appeared as if she was unharmed, but it did seem that the little girl had been locked inside for approximately eight minutes.
The daycare center is taking this seriously and put the women responsible for the incident on administrative leave. The mother is upset, especially after reading the release from the daycare.
“At KinderCare, nothing is more important to us than the safety of the children in our care. While we’re thankful the child was quickly found and was safe, this incident should not have happened.”
Martinez has got an attorney involved to let them know just how angry she is. In a statement, they said they were outraged at the endangerment of a child’s life by the safety protocols not being observed.v
Perhaps the most difficult part was that Miss Martinez had to watch as the child was under duress. It wasn’t until the local fire department and police officers showed up that they were able to extract the child.
To add insult to injury, nobody answered the phone at KinderCare and they didn’t apologize for their bad behavior. The only thing they did was come up with an excuse.
It wasn’t long after it took place that was posted to Facebook. Understandably, it has gone viral since that time.
