A groom’s actions and his wedding sparked backlash after a video emerged showing him smashing an entire tier of wedding cake into his new bride’s head. The man’s action was in retaliation to his bride doing the same, albeit in a playful and much less aggressive manner. Smashing cake into each other’s faces is a long-held wedding tradition that many couples engage in as a light-hearted and playful moment. However, some believe this groom took things too far as he sent his bride reeling into a table, nearly falling to the floor.
Since its posting, the video has gotten over 92,000 likes with over 9,000 comments, with many calling the extreme reaction a “red flag,” indicating potential physical abuse in her relationship.
However, the video cust off just before we see a lot of the bride, whose name is Kelsey, or the crowd’s reactions. However, many who saw the video shared their concerns about the bride’s safety.
But, as for Kelsey, she said she took the whole thing as a joke.
Many have also come to the groom’s defense, saying that people need to lighten up.
However, her words have not convinced many who believe the way her husband, Tony, smashed the cake into her head was a sure sign of violence to come in their relationship.
Some have even called for Kelsey to file for divorce.
However, Kelsey says that she’s unaffected by their opinions and believes her relationship with Tony is something those people will never understand.
