We may have many special days in our life but perhaps the one we will remember the most is the day that we get married. It is special for many reasons but primarily, it’s because everybody we care so much about in life is usually standing there with us.
The wedding is also something that takes months to plan and sometimes, perhaps even more. We want everything to go perfect for the occasion but sometimes, things just don’t work out that way.
That was the case for a young bride named Andrea. She had gotten everything ready for her wedding but she couldn’t plan for everything. Unfortunately, her father passed away from cancer shortly before the wedding took place but she wanted to go ahead with that day.
As you can imagine, having something like this happen so close to the wedding day is a tragedy. Andrea took it especially hard because she wanted him to walk her down the aisle and she wanted to have that first dance with him.
Although she and the rest of her family were grieving at the time, they also did their best to enjoy that special day together. As it turns out, the special connection she had with her siblings was also something that would play a big part in that special day.
Her brother stood up in front of everyone at the reception and said he had a special announcement. He talked about the dance between a father and his daughter that is so much a part of many weddings, but he admitted that they were missing somebody important.
That is when he said he wanted to do something special for Andrea so he had recorded himself singing ‘Butterfly Kisses’ and during what would have been the father bride dance, he played it.
This was a special moment, not only because of the music but because he had asked the men in the family to dance with her. One after another, the men came forward to take their part in this special moment, and eventually, her brother took the floor.
