When it comes to talent, I think that all of us would agree that we have seen a lot of talented individuals in recent years. It isn’t only those who can sing that are catching our attention, there are plenty of people who can dance that are extremely talented as well. Between the ‘got talent’ television shows and Dancing with the Stars, I would say that we have seen almost every talented individual that the world has to offer. Then again, when you really stop to think about it, you are only scratching the surface. That fact becomes quite clear when you see the swing dance champions in the following video.
This took place in New Brunswick, New Jersey where they had a dance event on an annual basis. It is known as the Liberty Swing Dance Championships, and there are 4 nights of social dancing, some workshops, and a swing dance competition involved. Unfortunately, the dance competition was canceled this year due to COVID 19 restrictions but parts of the schedule are still being run online. Perhaps one of the best of those videos is a demonstration by Robert Royston and Alexis Garrish, and you are in for a real treat.
Royston is known as being a choreographer but he is also an exceptional dancer as well. Over the years, he has been able to amass 8 U.S. Open Swing Dance Championship Titles in 5 different divisions, as well as 6 World Country Dance Championship Titles (in 2 divisions), 3 USA Grand National Championships Titles (also in 2 divisions). That is a meant to mention the national titles in salsa, hustle and cabaret.
He is joined by an amazing dancer, who is certainly able to burn up the dance floor on her own. As they choose partners and get ready to dance, the introduction onto the dance floor brings a great laugh from the entire audience. It isn;t long, however, before they are dancing and the style that they show is beyond talented. Quite honestly, you have to see it to believe it, and you can see it in the following video.
