One of the things that I think all of us can appreciate is having the opportunity to laugh. It makes us feel good, and there are studies that show that it may do more. Laughing may actually really be the best medicine, and it can help us in a physical way as well as in helping us with our emotions. At the same time, however, it is not enough to only laugh, but if we are able to make other people laugh, we are passing along something very important to them. A man by the name of Terry Jones was just such an individual, but the world lost him last year.
Terry Jones was a member of Monty Python, and he was born in 1942. He lived a fairly long life, but it wasn’t necessarily the amount of time that he lived, it was the fact that he made us laugh so much during that time. Even if you are not familiar with Monty Python and Terry Jones specifically, it is likely that you know some of his work. For example, the ‘spam’ sketch is perhaps one of his most famous. He played a waitress in that sketch and continued to say spam over and over again. Now that he has passed away, the remaining members of Monty Python are giving him a tribute.
They said: “In loving memory of our dear Terry J, who passed away on 21 January 2020, we’ve put together this compilation of clips of some of his best Monty Python moments. Clips include sketches from the newly restored “Monty Python’s Flying Circus”, iconic scenes from “Monty Python & the Holy Grail,” “Monty Python’s Life of Brian,” and “Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life” and clips from the 2014 live show “Monty Python (live) – One Down Five to Go” and 2015 documentary “Monty Python The Meaning of Live.”
As you look down through the clips below, you will see that there are many familiar moments that Terry Jones brought to us. It’s not only something that made us laugh in the past, he will continue to make us laugh for many years to come through these videos.
