Most of us tend to believe what we see, especially when it is something happening right in front of our eyes. We don’t typically feel as if we need to look any further because it is so obvious to us at the time. Perhaps that is why they often say that you should never judge a book by its cover, because we do need to look beyond what we can see if we truly want to assess the situation and make a good judgment call. That is a lesson that is learned quite well in the following fictional story.
A 24 year old young man seeing out from the train window, shouted,
“Dad, look the trees are going behind!”
Dad smiled and a young couple sitting nearby, looked at the 24 year old’s childish behavior with pity.
Suddenly he again exclaimed “Dad, look the clouds are running with us!”
The couple couldn’t resist and said to the old man, “Why don’t you take your son to a good doctor?”
Old man smiled and said “I did and we are just coming from the hospital, my son was blind from birth, he just got his EYES today.”
Think before you speak.
