Adding a brand new baby to a family is a joyous occasion always, but it can also be emotionally overwhelming for little ones who are just so excited that they can’t process all of their new emotions. Sometimes, big brothers and sisters wait as expectantly as the parents do for the new family additions. A little girl named Kaydence was so thrilled to meet her new baby brother that she was completely overcome with emotion and was also surprised. It seems like she didn’t expect to feel as emotional as she did, although she was delighted and filled with love at the prospect of a new sibling.
Part of the reason Kaydence was so surprised is that her little brother wasn’t due for another week, so she thought she had a long wait ahead of her. However, when she went to the hospital to see her mom, there was her little baby brother in the bassinet in the hospital room. When Kaydence first walks into the room, she is running to give her mother a hug when her mom tells her to turn around. Kaydence was shocked to see the baby and that’s when she became emotional and started crying. She breaks into tears as she talks about how precious the little boy is. Her mom tries to calm her down, but mom is also dealing with a wide range of emotions.
As she’s trying to calm Kaydence, mom says that she’s about to cry herself. Just when it seems the emotions are at a fever pitch, mom announces that there is one more surprise for Kaydence and one more person for her to meet. As Kaydence turns to the door, she turns just in time to see her father smiling at her from the doorway. Kaydence’s dad has been on deployment in Afghanistan and Kaydence had no idea she was going to see her dad that day. She had been told that he wouldn’t be home for about four more months, but he was home for the arrival of his little boy.
Kaydence rushes into her father’s arms before anyone can even try to stop her. Likely this will go down as one of the most important days of the little girl’s life. What a joyous day for this young family. Watch this heartwarming video below.
