There is one thing that all of us are going to have to deal with at some point in life, and that’s the fact that we are getting older. Just because we are getting older, however, does not necessarily mean that we are over the hill or have lost the spark of life. As a matter-of-fact, there are many cases in which an individual becomes even more youthful when he has more years behind him. It seems as if that may have been the case in the following joke that involves an old man, a young girlfriend and a plan that was sure to succeed.
A balding man with white hair recently walked into a jewelry store in Chebacco Lake, Florida with a gorgeous young woman at his side. He told the jeweler that he wanted to buy a special ring for his younger girlfriend, and the jeweler went to look for one in his stock. He returned with a $5,000 ring.
“No, I’d like to see something more special,” the man said when he saw it.
The jeweler went back to his stock and returned with another ring.
“Here’s a stunning ring at only $40,000,” the jeweler said. The young woman’s eyes sparkled as soon as she saw the ring, and her body started trembling with excitement. The old man noticed this right away and said, “We’ll take it.”
The jeweler asked the man how he wanted to pay, and he responded, “By check. I know you need to make sure my check is good, so I’ll write it now and you can call the bank Monday to verify the funds and I’ll pick the ring up Monday afternoon.”
When Monday morning rolled around, the jeweler angrily called the man.
“There’s no money in that account,” he told him.
“I know,” said the old man. “But let me tell you about my GREAT WEEKEND!!”
