I don’t recall ever having a tea party for my parents when I was a little girl, but when I had a little girl of my own, she loved tea parties. She had a full-sized set, a playset, and even a miniature set that she used for her little dolls. However, her favorite thing to do was to do a “real grown-up tea party” with my coffee cups and saucers. Rather than tea, I also put a lightweight plastic pitcher of lemonade on the countertop so that she could manage it. I didn’t want her using hot water, and she didn’t like hot tea (I’m not crazy about it, either). We’d have quaint little cookies and daintily sit and enjoy out little tea part on the coffee table. It was so much fun and she and I both have wonderful memories of those times. I’m glad I had the lemonade idea, though, and didn’t rely on her to come up with something on her own. The guy in the joke below could have benefitted from a little more effort, too. Yikes! Enjoy this hilarious joke.
One day a father was left to look after his young daughter who was about 2 1/2 years old. Someone had given her a little tea set for her birthday and it was one of her favorite toys.
Dad was in the living room, completely engrossed in watching the evening news, when his young daughter brought him some tea, served in one of the little teacups from her tea set.
Her father knew it was just water but played along as he knew she enjoyed the game, and truth be known, it also kept her from pestering him.
After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such delicious tea as well, his wife came home from work.
He made his wife wait in the living room to watch his daughter bring him a cup of tea because it was just the cutest thing to watch.
His wife waited, while their little girl came down the hall with a cup of tea for her Daddy.
She watched him drink it up, then she said, as only a mother would know, “Did it ever occur to you that the only place she can reach to get water is the toilet?”
You can just imagine the look on his face! I hope they clean their toilet regularly.
