When was the last time you had a good hug? It is something that most of us appreciate in life, but it does more than simply make us feel good on the inside. When we hug one another, it’s a way of showing that we have an appreciation or perhaps affection for each other. Of course, I’m not talking about a superficial, pat on the shoulder kind of hug, I’m talking about the embrace that we get from someone we love, regardless of whether it is our significant other or our best friend. When we don’t get them, then we really are missing out on something special in life.
That is what leads us to a Kangaroo Joey named Doodlebug. This little Kangaroo was orphaned, but she was raised by some caring humans who then released her into the wild. That occurred in South Australia, and doodlebug has returned to the rescue center where she spent some time. The reason why she came back is something that is near and dear to all of us. She wanted to give a hug to a stuffed teddy bear. When it happened, one of the wildlife caretakers, Gillian Abbot took a picture and then her son posted it on Twitter. It wasn’t long before it was going viral.

Nobody is really sure why doodlebug was living on her own. It may have been that her mother died or perhaps she fell out of her pouch but when she came to the wildlife sanctuary, she was only a few months old. Now that she has been nursed back to health, she was released to the forest but still needs the occasional cuddle.
It’s always amazing to see animals in their native habitat. This animal is even more touching because it shows us that we are not that different, after all.
