Does anyone like going to the dentist? I can remember a few years ago, I was preparing for a dental visit and I told my husband, “I really hate going to the dentist.” He stopped me in his tracks when he asked me one question: “Do you think anyone loves going to the dentist?” Honestly, I’d never thought of it before, believe it or not. I suppose I thought I had some ownership in hating dental visits more than anyone else does! The fact is, it’s a nerve-wracking experience. You’re usually in pain when you go, unless you’re just going for a cleaning or a checkup. The dentist and their assistants are putting cold metal devices in your mouth, along with their gloved fingers. It’s just an overall unpleasant experience. But if you’re lucky, you’ll have a pleasant dentist and some nice assistants who will make you feel at ease. Or maybe you’ll have a funny dentist who cracks a joke, like the dentist in the joke below. It seems like his patient had the last laugh, though. Enjoy!
A dentist noticed that his next patient,
A little old woman, who was nervous,
So he decided to tell her a little joke as he put on his gloves.
‘Do you know how they make these gloves?’ he asked.
‘No, I don’t,’ she replied.
‘Well,’ he spoofed,
‘There’s a building in Canada with a big tank of latex, and workers of all hand sizes walk up to the tank, dip in their hands, let them dry, Then peel off the gloves and throw them into boxes of the right size.’
She didn’t crack a smile.
‘Oh, well.. I tried,’ he thought.
But five minutes later, during a delicate portion of the procedure, she burst out laughing.
‘What’s so funny?’ he asked.
‘ I was just envisioning how c0ndoms are made!’
