There are certain songs that just seem to stick with us and we may have heard them since we were very young. They may be songs from our youth but in the case of Amazing Grace, it is a religious song that people around the world have heard more times than they could ever count. It was a song also with a rather interesting history, but regardless of where it came from or how long it is been around, it is a part of many people’s lives and they treasure the opportunity to hear it performed. Every once in a while, however, we hear the song performed in a way that really takes it to a new level.
The Celtic Women are a rather unique group and if you haven’t had the pleasure of hearing them perform, you really owe it to yourself to watch the video that we have at the end of this post. After all, they combine their beautiful voices together and you truly see how the combination can be greater than the sum of its parts. They have sung around the world and the musical ensemble continues to thrill audiences when they have the opportunity to sing in public. Along with their world tours, they have sold over 9 million records, which is no small feat. It all started back in 2004, however, when 5 female musicians were recruited and the rest is history.
The combination of their voices is similar to putting something that is as pleasant as a traditional Irish ditty along with a contemporary songcraft. The songs that they have selected over the years have changed but the unique pleasure that they bring to an audience is something that continues the same.
