There are many moments from our school career that are going to stand out in our mind. Perhaps we might think about the prom or the day that we graduate from high school. Although those are some of the bigger days that we will remember, we are also likely to remember some of the fun times that we had while we were in school as well. This would include the pep rallies that we had. Admittedly, not every school was going to have pep rallies but when they do, they can be a very interesting part of our school career.
Pep rallies are there to fire us up and to get us ready for a big event. Typically, they are done before the homecoming game in order to get people in the ‘school spirit’. The band, cheerleaders, sports teams and others do what they can in order to motivate the audience that is sitting in the bleachers. At the Walden Grove High School in Sahuarita, Arizona, a pep rally also took place but the dance team did something that the students are never going to forget. In fact, some people are calling this one of the greatest homecoming pep rallies that ever occurred! The dance team put on a pep rally to the theme of the Wizard of Oz.
At the beginning, it seemed as if it was a fairly benign dance routines. Dorothy was dancing around the auditorium to “Somewhere over the Rainbow”. Perhaps people in the audience were even wondering if it was going to get better at this point. Not that she didn’t do a great job, it just didn’t really show them what was coming their way.
It didn’t take long before things started to heat up when the scarecrow came out to center stage. What may have been somewhat mild at first suddenly exploded into a routine that is going to motivate you to want to see one of their games! Fortunately, you can see it for yourself below in the following clip:
