It’s not every day that a house for sale goes viral on social media. Unless they’re gazillion-dollar homes, houses aren’t really that exciting to most users of TikTok, Snapchat, and Instagram, for example. However, a TikTok user named @eli.korn_ uploaded a video that has indeed gone viral and the reason people are so interested in it is that it’s a super skinny house. However, on the inside, it’s not as tiny as it looks. The Deerfield Pie House has 1,112 square feet and it’s located in Deerfield, Illinois. Also, it has two bedrooms and three bathrooms, and though it’s narrow on one end, photos of the interior show it’s roomier than it looks.
Since it was uploaded to TikTok, the video has been liked more than 325,000 times and it has 4,784 comments. Even more fascinating is that more than a million people have viewed the video on TikTok. Since TikTok users tend to be younger folks who aren’t necessarily in the market for buying their first home at this time, that’s pretty remarkable. It’s because this quirky little house is just so interesting. One person hilariously said, “That’s not a house, that’s a hallway.” Another person suggested that the house might be vulnerable to strong winds, saying, “One gust of wind and it’s all over.”

However, the home has withstood some hard times already and it’s not new. Furthermore, the house was already famous before Eli uploaded his video to TikTok. Deerfield is a suburb of Chicago and the house is referred to as the “pie house” because it’s shaped like a piece of pie. One end is super narrow and the other end is wider. In fact, the house is just three feet wide on one end. What do they expect folks to do with that three feet? Is it a space for a hot water heater, maybe?
If you’d love to own this house, you’re in luck. It’s for sale. According to the Zillow listing, it was previously on the market for only $269,000.

The listing points out that the house is bigger than it looks and goes so far as to describe it as the perfect house for a “first-time homeowner.”
