One of the things Jennifer Lopez did to promote her new album “A.K.A.” was to go on Jimmy Fallon’s late-night talk show “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” to dance and do a heated sing-off of “Tight Pants” with Jimmy. As J.Lo’s eight studio album, “A.K.A.” was released in 2014 by Capitol Records. Jennifer began working on the album in February 2013 when she ended the “Dance Again World Tour,” which was her first worldwide tour. The title of the album was up in the air for a while as Lopez alternated between wanting to name it “A.K.A.” and “Same Girl.” The album was a blend of many styles, including dance-pop, urban pop, and Latin.
The album wasn’t a huge commercial success, but Jennifer Lopez is phenomenally popular, so anything she releases is going to sell, even if it doesn’t go gold or platinum. J.Lo began her career in 1991 as a Fly Girl dancer on the show “In Living Color,” where she was a regular until 1993, when she decided to pursue an acting career. Her biggest break was in 1997 when she played the role of Selena in the “Selena” biopic, a role which won her a Golden Globe nomination and made her the first Latina actress to ever earn more than $1 million for a movie role. She eventually established herself as the highest-paid Latina actress in Hollywood.
In the video below, Jimmy comes out wearing some very tight white pants with a blue and green striped sweater, singing, “No one else around is wearing tight pants.” Those pants are tight. Seriously tight. Jimmy starts dancing and singing along to “Tight Pants.” After a minute or so, Jennifer Lopez comes out wearing matching tight pants and a striped cropped sweater, singing a very similar song. The pair exchange namedrops that include Governor Grimble and Mayor Barleycorn to prove they have a right to wear tight pants. J.Lo finally bursts out with, “Listen up, you little bitch. You better hide your wife, you better hide your kids, because I will cut you! I will cut your father, I will cut your mother, I will scratch you!”
