With the age of technology, we’ve been blessed with a lot of modern conveniences and one thing that’s been a game-change is email. I think almost everyone who lives in the developed world has an email address and I can’t imagine living without one. However, one thing hasn’t changed in all of the years we’ve been enjoying email. Those pesky email addresses are no easier to type now than they were 25 years ago. We have to be extra careful and make sure we type a capital “I” instead of a lower case “L” or the number “1” and heaven forbid if there are two lower case l’s and 1’s together. It’s really easy to make a mistake, and I do it every time I enter my email address on my smartphone or tablet. For example, when I log in to Hulu or Netflix. It’s a nightmare. In the hilarious joke below, you’ll see just how wrong this can go. Enjoy!
A woman opened her email after her husband’s funeral and was shocked by one of the messages she read.
A husband and wife from Minneapolis planned to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary at the very same hotel in Florida where they went on their honeymoon. They were forced to take separate flights because of scheduling conflicts, so the husband left the day before his wife. Once he got there, he emailed his wife to tell her that he was there waiting for her to arrive.
Unbeknownst to him, there was a typo in her email address. He sent it to another woman — a widow who’d just buried her husband.
When the woman checked her email after her husband’s funeral, she found the shocking note and fainted.
“I know you’re surprised to hear from me. They have computers here now and you are allowed to send emails to your loved ones. I’ve just arrived and have been checked in,” the message read.
“I see that everything has been prepared for your arrival tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you then. Hope your journey is as uneventful as mine was. P.S. Sure is hot down here!!!!!”
