When I was in college, one of the sciences I took was biology. It was interesting and the labs were kinda fun, but I’m not a science-minded person, so it was a chore for me and it wasn’t the easiest thing to remember all of the things I had to remember to pass the class. I was a hard-working student when I was in school, but I’ll confess that if my instructor gave me the option to take a B in the class instead of holding out to see if I actually got an A, I would have grabbed that B and headed out the door. However, there are some students who are just very confident int their knowledge of specific topics and that’s what you’ll see in the joke below. Sometimes confidence pays off. Enjoy!
A professor stood before his class of 20 senior organic biology students, about to hand out the final exam.
“I want to say that it’s been a pleasure teaching you this semester. I know you have all worked extremely hard and many of you are off to medical school after summer. So that no one gets their GP messed up because they might have been celebrating a bit too much this week, anyone who would like to opt out of the final exam today will receive a “B” for the course.”
There was much rejoicing amongst the class as students got up, passed by the professor to thank him and sign out on his offer. As the last taker left the room, the professor looked out over the handful of remaining students and asked, “Anyone else? This is your last chance.” One final student rose up and took the offer.
The professor closed the door and took attendance of those students remaining. “I’m glad to see you believe in yourself,” he said. “Each of you gets an A.”
