Anyone who has kids knows this universal truth about children: whatever they’re thinking is going to usually come out of their mouths. And very often, the things kids say make a lot more sense than the things adults say. One thing about kids is that they have built-in and finely tuned BS detectors. There’s an old Biblical phrase that says, “Out of the mouths of babes…” What that means is that children often break down simple truths in a way that adults can’t always do. As adults, we’ve lived a lot of years and our views and opinions have become more complex. Therefore, when we express our ideas or answer simple questions, we have a tendency to make them more complex than is necessary. Kids don’t do this. Enjoy the hilarious joke below, where a kid just calls it like he sees it.
A little boy was waiting for his mother to come out of Morrisons Store. As he waited, he was approached by a man who asked, “Son, can You tell me where the Post Office is?” The little boy replied, “Sure! Just go straight down this street and at the end turn to your right.” The man thanked the boy kindly and said, “I’m the new minister in town. I’d like for you to come to church on Sunday. I’ll show you how to get To Heaven.”
The little boy replied with a chuckle. “Awww, come on… You don’t even know the way to the Post Office.”
