One of the things that most families no longer do together is to sit down and have a nice meal. We tend to grab things on the run or perhaps we sit in the living room, leaving the dining room table for capturing clutter or for other purposes. It wasn’t all that long ago, however, that people would eat a meal with each other every night and a prayer was often a part of the meal. It seems as if this family is trying to instill that in their son during the following joke. Little did they know that he would teach them a lesson they wouldn’t forget.
Little Johnny and his family often traveled to visit his grandmother for meals during the holiday season and special events Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving, Christmas.
One day, Little Johnny and his family were having Sunday dinner at his Grandmother’s house. Everyone was seated around the table as the food was being served.
When Little Johnny received his plate, he started eating right away. “Johnny! Please wait until we say our prayer.” said his mother.
“I don’t need to,” the boy replied.
“Of course, you do” his mother insisted. “We always say a prayer before eating at our house.”
“That’s at our house.” Johnny explained. “But this is Grandma’s house and she knows how to cook.”
